Monday's Workout 8.18.08

Posted By SugarKat on Aug 19, 2008 at 7:36AM

So, I was still in the midst of reading Breaking Dawn & couldn't put it down so I started with a 22 minute "warm up" so that I could continue reading. I did 22 minutes of the bike at a difficulty of 6-8...mostly 8. It got a good sweat going so that's good.

Then I just tried to work back into working out. A combination of being way too busy, birthdays, illness, and such has derailed my workout schedule.

So, here's my little workout...

Leg Raises alternating with back extensions 15 reps, 3 sets

Push ups on the ball alternating with crunches on the ball, 15 reps, 2 sets & 10 reps, 1 set

Then I was spent so I went home and ate a large salad and a little bit of pasta and one slice of bread. I was good.

And the playlist...

Starry Eyed Surprise
Money Talks
We are the Champions
Amos Moses
Beautiful Day
(I only kept track of the music when I was lifting and such...not when I was on the bike.[too busy reading. LOL.])

1) I love that I get to design these Nikes in whatever colors I want....I'd probably make mine a combination of mostly black, with pink and white :-)

2) This is my favorite shoe because, well, Nike's MarCom said it best:

"While coaching track at Stanford University renowned running expert Vin Lananna said, “When my runners run barefoot, they seem to get faster.” As the story goes, the inspiration behind Nike Free technology came directly from this observation. After pursuing extensive scientific research, Nike confirmed Lananna’s theory – running barefoot actually strengthens one’s feet! Shortly thereafter, Free technology was introduced.

Since its launch in 2004, the Nike Free line of sneakers has garnered accolades galore, yet Nike developer’s still felt there was more to be accomplished. The goal? Go beyond the Free’s training roots and recreate it for everyday use."
